Appearing in the magistrate court today, before Chief Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan were Police Corporal Shanice Fraser, 31 who is also the confidential secretary to the Traffic Chief and Corporal Ryan Gray, 25. It is alleged that on April 12th at the Felix Austin Police College, Georgetown, the two corporals conspired with persons to commit a misdemeanor. The court was told that they altered 38 questionnaires, knowing same to be forged and was not written by the person who was seated in the examination room.
Gray was charged with 20 counts and was released on $160,000 bail, while Fraser was slapped with 18 counts and was released on $150,000 dollars bail.
The two Police officers denied all of the charges. They will make their next court appearance on August 7th.
The Police back in April said the Office of Professional Responsibility, was called in to conduct an investigation into seemingly massive irregularities in the Guyana Police Force learner driver’s theoretical examination which to
ok place on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at the Felix Austin Police College, Georgetown.
One hundred and seventy-four (174) persons were registered to write the examination, but only one hundred and six (106) persons presented themselves on the day in question. However, two hundred and seven (207) scripts were received at the conclusion of the examination and one hundred and fifty-five (155) of the two hundred and seven (207) scripts were completed. This was discovered by a Senior Pastor who is the Guyana Police Force’s Chaplain to the Commissioner of Police (ag.) David Ramnarine.
