Guyana’s COVID-19 deaths continue to rise and today two more fatalities were added to that number bringing the total now to 137.
The latest fatalities are two 74-year-olds, a male and a female from Regions 4 and 10.
The Ministry of Health said the two pensioners tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and died on November 10th.
They both died while receiving medical attention at the health facility. Their deaths now bring the total number of persons who have died from the deadly virus to 137.
The Ministry is also appealing to the general public to respect the confidentiality of the two deceased and their families and to allow them to mourn their tragic loss in peace.
The Ministry is reminding all Guyanese to observe the protocols of the COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES (NO.11), which are in effect until November 30, 2020.
