The brothers were stabbed during a brawl in the New Amsterdam prison on June 21st.
The men, Dillon Boucher, of Haslington Village, East Coast Demerara, Ramchand Latchman of #65 Village Corentyne and Rooplall Abrahim of Bath Settlement West Coast Berbice, appeared in the New Amsterdam Magistrates’ Court this morning before Magistrate Alex Moore to answer to the indictable charge. The men were first read the murder charge and then the attempted murder charge followed.
There are reports that the men cornered the two brothers who had just returned from court and dealt them several stab wounds with improvised weapons. Neshan succumbed on arrival to the Hospital.
The court was told that the trio also unlawfully and maliciously wounded Ramnarine Jagmohan with intent to commit murder.
The trio were remanded to prison until September 4th. All the men were currently on remand for murder charges.
What triggered the brawl is still unknown at this time to family members of the deceased.
The brothers were on remand since 2013, for the murder of businessman, Devendra Deodat called “Dave”, of Lot 72 Hampshire Village, Corentyne Berbice. The businessman was shot and chopped to death.
Neshan was a father of five. Meanwhile, Ramnarine is still a patient of the New Amsterdam Hospital.
