The remarks were made by the Union’s president Mark Lyte, during the May Day March. He said the union has been asking the powers that be for a long time now, to make the lives of teachers better. Lyte said so far, teachers were able to get some of the benefits the union was clamoring for, but the struggle continues.
He said debunching for teachers and a reasonable raise of pay for teachers are some outstanding issues that are still to be addressed.
Lyte said his union anxiously anticipates some closure in these matters.
