The 18-year-old man was hauled before the court for the murder of his 18-month-old niece who he tossed through a window, then placed a pile of wood on top of her body.
The suspect, Sherwin Roberts appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, this afternoon in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and was not required to plea to the indictable charge.
There are reports that the man committed the vicious act after he tried to relieve the child of her earrings after breaking into his brother’s house. That incident occurred on September 1st.
He was remanded to prison until September 25th when the matter will be called again. In the meantime, Roberts was placed under the supervision of a probation officer until the completion of a preliminary inquiry into the matter.
Little Ronasha was at the time asleep with her two brothers at their A Field Sophia home when her uncle broke into the house and committed the horrific act.
