A Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara man is the lasted cocaine mule to be busted by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU). On Sunday, June, 18 the man Randolph Muir also called Roach was an outgoing passenger at the Eugene Correira International Airport, destined for Barbados.
A release from CANU said Muir was arrested after being observed by a vigilant CANU Officer. He was later transported to a city hospital where he excreted 72 pellets of cocaine weighing 592 grams.
According to the release, the man remains in custody pending further investigation but is expected to appear in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court where he will be charged.
In recent times CANU has stepped up the fight against couriers trying to smuggle the illicit substance out of Guyana.
