The 29-year-old man, Kevin Persaud admitted that on July 6 at Brickdam he robbed Ryan Barry of one cell phone valued $ 5000 and a silver chain valued $1,000.
On Monday he pleaded guilty to the charge of robbery and was sentenced to 50 months jail by Magistrate Judy Latchman.
Police prosecutor Quinn Harris told the court that on the day in question the victim was seated in the front seat of a minibus when Persaud passed and snatched the items.
The Magistrate in her ruling, told Persaud that he is a repeat offender, that he is too frequent in the courts and as such will be sentenced him to 50 months jail.
