Regional support arrives to help local police solve the West Coast Berbice triple murders

Regional help has arrived to lend assistance in solving the West Coast Berbice triple murders of cousins Joel and Isaiah Henry and Haresh Singh.

The Guyana Police force in a press statement today said a five-member team of Investigators from the Regional Security Systems arrived in the county today with the intent on assisting Guyana Police Force with investigations into the recent Murder of Joel Henry, Isiah Henry and Haresh Singh that occurred in the Villages of Cotton Tree and No. 3 on the West Coast of Berbice.

The team according to the police spokesman Royston Adries-Junor is led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police and comprises officials from countries within the Regional Investigative Management Systems.

President Irfaan Ali promised that Regional and International assistance will be sought to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The mutilated bodies of the Henry cousins were found in the back lands of Cotton Tree while Haresh Singh was found in the back lands of Number 3 village. Singh’s death was given as blunt trauma to the head.

The deaths which are said to be race related saw residents from a number of villages on the West Coast and East Coast of Demerara holding demonstrations as they called for justice.
