Real Estate Agent slapped with Fraud Charges

Basdeo Persaud, a 23-year-old man Real Estate Agent was today arraigned before Magistrates Fabayo Azore charged with five counts of obtaining money by false pretense.
The Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara man denied all the charges and was released on a total of $150,000 bail.
The first charge alleged that on January 9 at Campbellville, Persaud obtained $60,000 from Anarada Persaud by falsely pretending that he was in a position to obtain a plot of land, knowing same to be false.
The 2nd charged read that he obtain $260,000 from Anarada Persaud under the same pretense on January 6 at Campbellville.
It is also alleged that Persaud on February 22 at Campbellville Persaud obtained $50,000 from Rohanie Ramadeen by falsely pretending that he was in a position to obtain a house lot knowing same to be false.
It is further alleged that Persaud on February 24 at Campbellville obtained $50,000 from the woman under the same pretense.
The court further heard that on August 30, 2017, at Campbellville Persaud obtained $400,000 from Ramadeen.  The man was released on $150,000 bail and the matter will next be heard on July 25th.
