Following a fire which destroyed a room and gutted several others at the Ramada Princess Hotel, at Providence on the East Bank of Demerara, it was announced that the hotel will be closing its doors until further notice.
The hotel’s management in a media statement said it was working with authorities in organizing a plan to deal with issues that guests face at this time.
On Saturday, more than 250 guests were forced to leave the hotel after an alarm was raised that room 431 located on the fourth floor was on fire.
The Fire Service said that at the time of the fire 293 adults and 4 children were registered at the hotel.
The fire service is working on ascertaining the cause of the fire.
