It has been almost two weeks since 30-year-old Ryan Singh has been on the run from law enforcement in Guyana but he was finally apprehended in Springlands, Corriverton, Berbice on Wednesday by police. 
Singh is the prime suspect in the murder of his 16-year-old girlfriend, Parbattie Lakhpaul called ‘Rosann’. She was killed in her East Canje Berbice home on Saturday, July 29.
Police are making arrangements to have the accused transported back to the Central police station in New Amsterdam to assist with their investigation.
The victim who is a former student of the Berbice Educational Institute (BEI) started a relationship with the man over a year ago. The two met on Facebook.
Days before her death, she took a decision to end the relationship after being abused repeatedly by Singh. This angered the man, who ambushed her and slit her throat. He allegedly murdered her at the lower flat of her mother’s house, where they were living together.
