23-year-old Marissa Fraser of lot 24 Public road Number 4 Village, met a dreadful death early this morning.
Fraser’s body was found in a trench next to a cemetery close to the backdam in the Number 5 Village with her face covered with mud, a jersey material jacket which was rolled up and her bottom was fully naked.
Berbice Divisional Commander, Assistant Commissioner Linden Alves disclosed to this publication that investigators are treating the incident as a homicide because multiple stab wounds were found on the body when it was taken out of the waterway.
The Part-time BarTender was last seen by her cousin at home where she lived, at number 4 village at approximately 1:45 this morning, after she stopped by to drop off snacks from a wedding she attended earlier. According to the relative, he opened the door for her but she hurried back out since someone was waiting for her on the road.
