The 24-year-old man, Orin Peters of Norton Street Bagotstown, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan to answer to the indictable charge. The police told the court that while in the company of others on July 11th, Peters murdered Tedroy James during the course or furtherance of a robbery.
James, a mini-bus driver of Suddie, Essequibo was shot and killed on the East Bank road, in the vicinity of Mc Doom. He was shot inside of his mini-bus and was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital by public spirited citizens, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Reports reaching this newscast indicated, that three armed men pounced on the man, who had stopped to make a drop-off and shot him to his head.
Peters was remanded to prison until August 11th when he will make his next court appearance.
