Town clerk Royston King who is in the hot seat regarding the controversial Parking Meter Project said he obtained legal advice on the proposed suspension of the project by the government and the suspension of the City by-laws, by the Minister of Communities Ronald Bulkan. The council’s attorney Roger Yearwood believes, that the order of the Minister is null and void.
King spoke of the legal implications while addressing an extraordinary statutory meeting to deal with the issue.
A motion was moved by APNU councilor Heston Bostwick which gives the council more time to study the legal implications that the suspension of the metered parking by-laws would attract.
