Twenty-six-year-old Dwayne Tappin on Wednesday appeared in the Sparendaam Magistrates’ court charged with the murder of his uncle, Randolph Seenauth.
The matter was called before magistrate Alisha George and the accused was remanded to prison until September 28 when the matter will come up again for a report.
Tappin, a former member Guyana Defence Force is also the father of a new born baby and told the court it was his first offence
The court room was packed with his family members who gathered despite their differences.
His aunt said this was a double blow for her family, losing her brother and nephew for a dispute over a property her mother left.
