53 yr. old Bhikari, was on the run since the murder happened in May 2000, until last Saturday, when he was arrested at a house in Enmore, East Coast Demerara. At the court this morning, family members of Singh packed the courtroom to listen to the case. They were elated that justice was served in the matter.
The family is thankful to God for answering their prayers.
As the suspect was escorted by the police to the lockups, family members were heard saying that “his time was up”. The suspect was reportedly hiding out in neighbouring Venezuela. Bhikari was remanded to prison until June 15th.
