By Farah Bates – Four days after Hukumchan Inshanally went missing his badly decomposed remains were fished out of a canal Monday afternoon in Rose Hall Town, Corentyne not far from his home by police.
The 56-year-old man, was last seen Friday morning after he left for work at the Albion Estate but never returned home.
An alarm was then raised by family members that same afternoon and a search was launched but proved futile until about 12:00hrs today, after residents complained about an unbearable stench.
Calls were made to the family to identify the body and their worse nightmare suddenly became a reality. This newscast understands that the man may have slipped and fell into the canal as he attempted to cross to make his way home. His body was also eaten by reptiles that live in the canal.
A cause of death has not yet been determined, but police are continuing to investigate the circumstances which led to Inshanally’s death.
