Mini-bus slams into fence, killing passenger

The accident occurred just around 6:20 this morning at Brittania Public Road, West Coast Berbice, and has left a 43-year-old woman dead. She was identified as Deoranie Sukhram age 43 of Dundee Mahaicony.
That accident involved a mini-bus which was at the time trying to negotiate a turn, when the driver lost control and slammed into a fence. The woman was a passenger in the front seat of the mini-bus.
Police Regional Division Commander  Kurleigh Simon said their initial investigation revealed that the mini-bus BPP 7638 owned and driven by Ukhram Tillack was proceeding east along the northern driving lane about 80km, at the time, the road was wet and while approaching a right bend he suddenly lost control of the said mini-bus and ended up into a fence.

Deoranie Sukhram and Neola Barnwell of Berbice who were passengers in the said mini-bus received injuries and were taken to the Fort Wellington Hospital where Deoranie Sukhram was pronounced dead on arrival. The driver is assisting the police with their investigations into the matter.
