Man wanted for the Murder of Mechanic Reginald Atherley shot by Police

The suspect in the murder of Guyhoc mechanic, Reginald Atherley is in hospital nursing a gunshot wound he sustained at the hands of the police in their attempt to arrest him on Sunday.

The police in a report today said 36-year-old Marlon Bradley was shot in the vicinity of the route 32 minibus park by a police officer after he allegedly whipped out a handgun from his crutch and pointed it in the direction of a constable. However, another officer shot him before he could press the trigger.

 

Bradley, who addressed was given as 821 Morcut Square, East La Penitence and Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara was apprehended and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital to be treated for the wound to his leg.

Atherly a Mechanic and a father of 6 was shot dead by bandits who gained entry from a window at the side of his home. It was the man’s reputed wife who came face to face with the bandits and alerted her husband. Atherley reportedly over-powered the bandits when he was shot.
