A cocaine mule destined for Canada was nabbed at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport by ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) on Tuesday.
The drug enforcement agency in a release said the Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara suspect was escorted to a city hospital where he was medically examined and admitted. Tuesday night the agency said the man had excreted some 86 of the more than 100 cocaine filled pellets he had ingested. The man remains under observation at the hospital.
CANU said it is important to note that these practices are hazardous to the health of the intended trafficker and can gravely compromise lives.
