A repeat offender has been remanded to prison for robbery. The man, 24-year-old Junior Roberson aka “Jerry” is before the court charged with stealing in excess of $800,000 in mining equipment, the property of Neville Rodrigues, Port Kaituam businessman.
Robertson made his appearance before Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court where he denied the charge but was nevertheless remanded to prison.
Reports are that between May 15 and 16, 2018, Robertson allegedly stole four excavator bucket pins valued at $304,000, mining party to the tune of $100,000 among other items amounting to $819,000.
The items which were allegedly stolen by Robertson were sold in the said community, but like any small community word spread and the suspicions reported to the police. When Robertson was arrested some of the items were found in Robertson possession.
Robertson who was imprisoned for a similar offence was remanded to prison and will make his second court appearance on June 27.
