Three years after GPHC dispatcher, Melissa Skeete was stabbed and killed, her alleged murderer has been committed to stand trial.
The man 59-year-old Allen Sim, known as ‘Cayenne’ was committed to stand trial in the High Court after the Preliminary Inquiry concluded today. The Preliminary Inquiry was conducted by Magistrate Fabayo Azore in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Melissa Skeete, a Georgetown Public Hospital employee and mother of a then 3-year-old child was stabbed and her body dumped on Carmichael Street.
Sim went into hiding after the woman’s body was discovered. Her workmates said the Mellisa was picked up from work by the suspect and a short while after the two left, they received the disturbing news. Sim turned himself into the police days later and reportedly admitted to the crime.
There are reports that Mellisa and Sim had an on and off relationship. Relatives of Skeete said the woman wanted out of the relationship which they described as abusive.
