These are some of the images from #54 village, Corentyne Berbice this morning after overnight showers caused heavy flooding. Some residents of the village said they had to move their furniture to higher ground as the water kept gushing into their yards and the lower flats of their homes.
According to a resident, this situation has been ongoing for years and they are desperately in need of help.
Another resident said in the 8 years she has lived in the area, this is the third time this has happened. She said the Western side of the road from Number 53 complex dam to Gobel Square is under water.
