The man accused of murdering political activist Courtney Crum-Ewing was today committed to stand trial for his murder in the High Court.
City Magistrate, Judy Latchman after three instances of freeing the murder accused because of insufficient evidence, committed the man to stand trial.
Today’s decision comes after the Director of Public Prosecution moved to the High Court and appealed the Magistrate’s ruling.
The matter was heard before Justice Brassington Reynolds ordered that the Magistrate complies with the direction of the DPP.
Crum-Ewing was executed at Diamond, East Bank Demerara, on March 10th 2015 while encouraging residents to vote against the then ruling People Progressive Party (PPP/C).
‘Grey boy’ was arrested and charged with Crum-Ewing’s murder after the police found a gun in his Riverview, Ruimveldt house, it was later confirmed as the murder weapon.
