Residents said the Koker attendant failed to close the Koker door and that was what caused the flooding.
Now Riverview and Alexander Village residents are counting their losses after they were inundated with water just after 1:00 this morning. The situation was so bad that some residents were forced to put their furniture and other electrical appliances on higher ground, but some were not so fortunate and are now left to ponder over who will pay for the Koker attendant’s negligence.
City Mayor, Patricia Chase Green, Town Clerk, Royston King and engineers from the M&CC were there for a first-hand look at the plight of the residents. Green said the situation was unfortunate and a thorough investigation will be launched into the incident.
Some residents of the two communities are now asking who will compensate them for the damages.
Some of the affected residents are also looking for assistance to get the water out of their homes.
