Five men were today, May 8, 2017, remanded to prison for the illegal possession of a gun and ammunition. The men, Trevor McKenzie a former policeman, Michael Embrack, Mickey Henry, Jason Archer and Sean Browne appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore, in the New Amsterdam Magistrates’ Court, where they were charged with the of a possession of gun and ammunition for which they were not licensed to carry. The men were also charged with possession of housebreaking instruments namely crowbar and screwdriver. The five will make their next court appearance on June 2.
Last week Thursday, police in ‘B’ out on a mobile patrol in Glasglow village, East Bank Berbice stopped and searched the car the men were traveling in, they found an unlicensed pistol, 13 live rounds, rope, crowbar and a wig among other items. The five men were arrested while the car and items lodged.
