Dason Jupiter a 23-year-old West Ruimveldt man was today slapped with three attempted murder charges for two separate incidents when he appeared in the Georgetown before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
The court was told that Jupiter discharged a loaded firearm at Doodnauth Danasri a market vendor with intent to commit murder. He was also charged with the armed robbery committed on the man’s his wife on April 2, at the La Penitence Market in front of the Twins drugs store. According to the Police report, Jupiter, while armed with a gun and in the company of others, robbed Meena Danasri of $150,000. The bandits shot the woman’s husband after he refused to hand over the money. It was while the man collapsed, the men took the money and made good their escape. The bullets grazed Danasri.
Jupiter was not required to plea to the two indictable charges when it was read to him by the Chief Magistrate.
And Jupiter was hit with another attempted murder charge, this time the alleged act was committed at Laing Avenue on March 2. It is alleged that he discharged a loaded firearm at Randy Sampson with intent to commit murder.
Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield told the court that the Police file is still incomplete and requested an adjournment for reports.
Jupiter was refused bail on the three charges and was remanded to prison until June 1.
