Seven months after the police instituted charges against former government Minister, Simona Broomes and her driver, Dexter Austin, they walked out of the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court free. the charges were dismissed today, when they appear before Magistrate, Dylon Bess.
Broomes and Austin both faced charges which included unlawful and malicious assault, causing grievous bodily harm, preventing the complainant from proceeding in the direction in which he had the right to do, and discharging a loaded firearm.
The charges were dismissed by Magistrate Bess for lack of evidence. Broomes during a telephone interview with us, said the police never had a case against her or her driver.
