Fisherman stabbed 10 times about his body, succumbs in boat cabin. Police in Berbice are probing the murder of a fisherman, while his assailant is said to be on the run. The incident occurred at number 65 village, Fishery, on the Corentyne Berbice this afternoon. Dead is Davanand Jailall, 38, of lot 578 Block 8 Agriculture Road, East Coast Demerara. There are reports that the suspect and the man had an argument which escalated and ended deadly. This newscast understands that the deceased was allegedly smoking cocaine in the cabin of the boat both men worked on, while he was cooking rice. He was cautioned by the suspect and he reportedly refused, the suspect then dealt him several stab wounds about his body. The man was reportedly stabbed 10 times. The suspect then dropped the knife in the boat and made good his escape. The body is presently at the Skeldon Hospital mortuary.
