Vessel with bodies found in Guyana’s waters disappeared

A vessel with several decomposed bodies which was seen drifting in Guyana’s waters have disappeared and the Public Works, Minister who is responsible for the maritime administration says he is distressed.

During a press conference on Tuesday night, Minister Juan Edghill said, “I am distressed, deeply distressed that I cannot tell the nation tonight where the boat is and who is on board”.

Reports are that the discovery was made by a boat assigned to oil giant Exxon Mobil and reported the authorities.

From the picture seen by this newscast it is difficult to say how many bodies are in the boat as they are in the late state of decomposition.

Edghill said a check locally revealed that no crew or boat is missing from any stakeholder. According to the Minister, his main concern was where the vessel was coming from and which country it belonged to.

Yesterday, Tuesday two boats were deployed off the North West along with GDF Coast Guard helicopter providing surveillance but there was not sighing of the small boat.

Edghill said all options are on the table to find the vessel and he believes that the vessel which had no engine may have drifted from Africa.
