Berbice taxi driver and city businessman arrested following drug bust

The duo Cordell Moore a taxi-driver and Ulric Jordan who is said to be a businessman were arrested by the Customs Anti- Narcotics CANU after they were found to be in the possession of suspected cocaine. The illicit substance was found hidden in the trunk of the car.
The drug totaling 504 grams (just over a pound). According to a release from CANU the interception took place on 10th February 2021 (Wednesday morning) at Commerce Street, Georgetown in the vicinity of the Berbice Car Park.
CANU noted in their release that Moore 47-year-old, a Georgetown-Berbice Taxi Driver of Lot 974, Glasgow Housing Scheme, New Amsterdam Berbice was the sole occupant of the car at the time when the cocaine was found.According to CANU, Ulric Jordan, a 50-year-old a businessman of Lot 10, Camp Street Georgetown was intercepted in front of his home with a bag containing a digital table, top scale with traces of suspected cocaine on the said instrument.

Both men were arrested with a quantity of cash in their possession. The two are expected to appear in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court later today where it they are expected to face trafficking in narcotic charges.
