Former Minister of Public Infrastructure David Patterson is expected in court on Monday over an allegation of defrauding the Demerara Harbour Bridge
Patterson was invited to the Special Organised Crime Unit today where he was arrested and charged with attempting to defraud the Demerara Harbour Bridge of approximately $167 Million dollars. However, the former Minister was released on his own recognizance and told that he has to appear in court on Monday. That investigation has to do with the contract for the consultancy for the New Demerara River Crossing in 2016. Patterson who turned up with his lawyer at SOCU Headquarters was fingerprinted and had his picture taken before he was released. The former General Manager of the Demerara Harbour Bridge Rawlston Adams is also expected to be charged.
