The accused Taijram Rahim appeared in the Blairmont Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, where the indictable charge of murder was read to him.

The man had accused the 28-year-old mother of three of infidelity, an accusation the woman had denied.
According to a police report, the entire family went to a birthday party, during which the suspect and victim had a few drinks. Sometime later, the entire family left and went home, and at about 23:45 hrs the suspect was heard accusing the victim of her being unfaithful the day before.
The suspect then went to the kitchen and returned with a knife and stabbed the victim, who was at the time lying on her bed and then ran out of the house.
Taijram Rahim was not required to plea and was remanded to prison until December 29, 2020, for a report.
