Stella Maris and North Georgetown Primary top this year’s Grade 6 assessment.

The national grade 6 assessment results are out and the top students are from the public-school system. The two are Samuel Barkoye of North Georgetown and Rovin Lall of Stella Maris Primary Schools. Both Barkoye and Lall tied for the number one position with 525 marks.

Other students making the top ten are: Alexander Singh, Lianna Dharampaul, Brandon Ramdin, Britney Peters, Gabriel Felix, Dhanesh Tularam, Yuki Clarke, Charisma Etwaroo and Robert Forrester.

The National Grade Six Assessment is used to determine which high school students are to be placed in.

This year the Assessment was written two months after the usual scheduled date as the country was on a partial lockdown due to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. This saw the Ministry of Education embracing virtual learning after students were unable to be in the classroom physically.
