A Family’s worst fears were confirmed today after the charred remains believed to be that of missing Canadian Citizen Nicholas Jaipaul were found.

The 23-year-old man went missing last Sunday and relatives were keeping their fingers crossed and praying for his safe return.
Police B Division Commander Calvin Brutus told this newscast that the maid who works with the family and her two sons are in custody, along with three other persons. He said one of the suspects has confessed to police investigators and took the lawmen to a location at Moleson Creek, Corentyne, Berbice where the startling discovery was made.

The commander said the remains of human bones were found in the bushes and the area was burnt.
Over at the family’s house this morning, the victim’s grandfather said he was unaware that his grandson had left the house.
He described his grandson as being very loving and kind and said his grandson had returned to Guyana in January to be with him for a while. He said they both were expected to leave in May, but this was pushed back due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The police investigations into the matter are ongoing
