Dead is Collis Joseph of Ithaca, West Bank Berbice.
His 18 year old son is being sought by the police for the incident.
According to reports, the two were involved in a heated argument over a bicycle on Saturday and it spilled over to today when the father visited the young man’s home.
Police commander Edmond Cooper said the police’s initial investigations revealed that there was a cutlass pelting incident between the father and son and it was when the son pelted his cutlass that the fatal wound was inflicted. The dead man received a wound to his chest.
The commander said the victim was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injury.
The commander said his ranks are on the ground and with the help of residents they have commenced a search for the suspect.
