Prison escapee Ganesh Dhanraj was arrested by the police at the Parika Bus Park around 14:10 hours today, Saturday, May 16, 2020.
He was one of four prisoners who escaped from Holding Bay at Lusignan on April 20th.
He was on remand for the murder of his reputed wife when he escaped.
Police acting on information received, went to the Parika Bus Park where the escapee was seen in a motorcar. He was questioned and then escorted to the Parika Police Station where he was further questioned and positively identified as the escapee.
According to a release from the Director of Prisons Gladwyn Samuels, Prison authorities on receipt of the notification, went to the Parika Police Station where his identity was further confirmed. He was then transported to prison.
The GPS commends the police for their swift action and commends the members of the public for feeling safe and confident to provide the information to the police.
