By Tracey Khan – Dancehall Artiste ‘Ajji’ is a lyrical genius who has mastered the art of being business savvy and innovative when it comes to his craft as an entertainer.
Riding on the crest of a successful performance at Power 105’s Breakfast Club Host, Angela Yee’s Day in New York, Ajji whose former stage name was Ajrenalin is in high spirits about his upcoming projects.

AJJI explains the reason he changed his stage name, “fans of my work couldn’t find who did their favorite songs because of how complex my name and it’s spelling was. This was a hard decision but was necessary for the fans.”
The Jamaican Deejay whose real name is Keith Bolt is passing this period in the studio as he prepares for the much-anticipated release of several singles including collaborations with International recording Artistes, ‘Stylo G’ and Christopher Martin.

His latest fast-growing single, “Jokes on You” is already creating waves among fans who find it relatable and others said it mirrors situations in their life.
When asked about the inspiration behind the lyrics, Ajji said it’s from, “personal experience really, all is fair in love and war, sometimes the best way to prove a point is to take away a man’s most valued item, in some cases, it’s their women,” he laughed!
He complimented the song with fire visuals, which was shot in parts of Queens, New York. “We wanted to show how far people would go in general to get what they want, in this case, we drove separate cars met in a public place and left in one car,” he explained.
The controversial single features a brown skin short blonde hair beauty who captivates Ajji’s attention. She is running games on her man with him (Ajji) and this has him feeling like a Don, hence the song title, “Jokes on You”

It’s an interesting position for a man to be in but many men see this as a position of authority when in reality they are the side dude lol so Ajji’s perspective is from the side, but his side is where it’s at.
Another personal take away from this video is that Ajji is telling the short hair black beauty that it’s just sex and she is good with this, reminds me of some women, no shade.
New single ‘Jokes on You’
AJJI is optimistic about the impact his music will make on the industry.
The fast spitting freestyle Dancehall Artiste who lives in New York is also known for his strong arm on the underground dancehall scene and his popular and creative Instagram freestyles, it’s like a video flyer.

AJJI also released a music video to compliment a Mother’s Day tribute titled “Mama” which is a heartfelt number that has the soulful vocal of Reggae Singer ‘D Major’ delivering a touching Chorus.
That song “Mama” is also available on Vevo and Apple Music.
