8 Venezuelan Nationals were on Tuesday evening taken into custody as part of Guyana’s fight to curb the spread of the Coronavirus.
The operation was conducted in Station Street Kitty just after 9:00 pm. Heavily armed police ranks and members from the COVID -19 unit all fully suited up carried out the exercise.
The women lived upstairs of the Liquid Love Bar and last week one of their colleagues was collected by members of the COVID 19 team.
Its unclear if that woman had tested positive and whats her status at this time. It is also unclear if she is currently quarantined.
The women were transported with their luggage which was placed in a mini-bus. This newscast understands that they will all be tested for COVID-19.
Guyana has so far recorded 48 cases of COVID-19.
