A 31-year-old man was today charged with the murder of his cousin when he appeared before Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It is alleged that David Smith of Bamboo Landing, Cuyuni Mazaruni, on the 22 March was involved in a heated argument with his cousin David Boyer which ended fatally. There are reports that during the argument, the suspect grabbed an arrow and stabbed his cousin to the lower abdomen. The incident occurred at Blackwater Island.
The man who was not required to plea to the indictable offence was remanded to prison until April 10th and the case transferred to the Bartica Magistrates Court.
