The police are probing a suspected arson which left a Tacoma pickup truck completely destroyed and scorched the back of an X-trail.
The incident occurred at Lot 20 Owen Street Kitty around 2.45 this morning. Surveillance video shows three masked men approaching the businessman’s home and dousing the vehicles with gasoline before setting them on fire. Owner of the vehicles, businessman Robin “boots” Barrat said he estimates his losses to be over $5M dollars.
Quick reaction from the businessman and neighbours prevented the fire from escalating and they managed to save the X-trail vehicle which fortunately was only damaged at the back right side.
Police investigators are looking at the Surveillance camera footage to ascertain the identities of the men. The businessman said he is at a loss as to why someone would want to harm him, since he has no issues with anyone.
