Dead are Tessa Ibrahim and her son Marlon McFarlane, while Patricia McFarlane remains unconscious and was transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital. Seven-year-old Roshana McFarlane and the driver of the car were also admitted to the Linden Hospital. The driver suffered a broken leg. All of the occupants of the car are relatives.
The accident occurred at Moblissa on the Soesdyke/ Linden Highway on Saturday afternoon.
According to a report from the Police, their initial investigations revealed that the car PNN 3987 was crossing the Moblissa Bridge when the driver drove into a pot-hole and lost control of the vehicle, which then careened into a ditch, west of the said bridge and came to a halt after it collided with a tree.
The Police say that the driver was going at a fast rate.
