George Butters, was hauled before the courts after the Police wrapped up their investigations into a number of home invasions where women were raped.
He appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and was not required to enter a plea for the indictable charges which were read via camera.
It is alleged that on August 13, 2018, at Lima Public Road, Essequibo, Butters engaged in sexual intercourse with a 48-year-old woman without her consent.
Then between August 20, 2018, and August 21, 2018, at Danielstown, Essequibo Coast he again engaged in sexual intercourse with a 31-year-old woman without her consent.
The man was released on $400,000 dollars bail and the matter was transferred to the Ann Regina Magistrates’ Court.
He will make his next court appearance on September 11th.
