The two men involved in the Emancipation Day shootout with the Police were today remanded to prison when they appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ court.
21-year-old Jamal Jeriah, of Albert Street, Queenstown, Georgetown and 32-year-old Junior John, of  East La Penitence, Georgetown were jointly charged with Carlton Bourne who was remanded on the previous day.
The trio were jointly charged with discharging a loaded firearm at Police Constables, Royston Mendonza and Lester Lewis, with intent to maim, disfigure, disable or cause them grievous bodily harm.
Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield objected to bail and told the court that Jeriah sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder during the shootout with the police.  Bourne and Jeriah were both remanded to prison until August 27. The two men along with Bourne will be jointly charged on that date.
Jamal Jeriah was also charged separately with having in his possession a .357 revolver and four matching rounds while not being a licensed firearm holder.  He denied the charges and was remanded to prison until August 27 .
