An East Coast Demerara man was today sentenced to four years in prison and fined $3.3 million for cocaine possession.
The man, Kelvin Gordon pleaded guilty to the offence. Gordon was arrested after a 19-year-old girl who had ingested a number of cocaine pellets were nabbed at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport. The girl, Anisha Hardy reportedly said Gordon was her supplier. Hardy is currently serving a three-year jail sentence after pleading guilty.
A search was conducted of Gordon’s house by the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit where more than two pounds of cocaine was found. The cocaine was found in more than 270 pellets.
