22-year-old Kevin Christopher was on Monday sentenced to 18 months jail for stealing a cell phone.
The man appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman and admitted that on June 21st at Sussex Street, Charlestown he stole a Samsung Galaxy cell phone valued $75,000 dollars, property of Allen Campbell.
The 22-year-old man will spend the next 18 months in prison for the offence.
The court was told by Police Prosecutor Quinn Harris that on the day in question, Campbell parked her car along Sussex Street and left her phone charging in the vehicle. However, when she returned to the vehicle, the phone was missing. The alert woman quickly reported the matter to the police and it was based on their investigations the suspect was arrested.
