The suspect, Corwyn Arthur called ‘Cross Eye’, appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse in the Linden Magistrates’ court this morning, where the indictable charge of murder was read to him.
On May 10th, Arthur stabbed Claude DeJonge to death.

Dejonge was the reputed husband of Arthur’s paramour. The incident happened at their home in Cinderella City, Amelia’s Ward, Linden. The murder was allegedly committed in front of the woman Arthur shared a relationship with, prior to the woman moving on with DeJonge. He also threatened to take the woman’s life.
He was remanded to prison until June, 21st.
The man went on the run after the incident and was arrested by the Police in a house at Bennett Dam, Rosignol Village, West Coast Berbice last Thursday.
