A body believed to be that of one of the 12 missing fishermen from that deadly pirate attack in Suriname, recently washed up at the Number 63 Beach, Corentyne Berbice on Thursday afternoon. Hours later, the body was positively identified as Gavin Outar, by one of his cousins. According to the Police, the body is in an advanced stage of decomposition and is clad in a blue 3/4 pants and has a tattoo on the left side of the chest. It was the tattoo which helped to identify the man as Outar from Sheet Anchor, East Canje, Berbice.

Gavin Outar, dead fisherman

Four bodies were recovered earlier in  neighbouring Suriname. Five fishermen survived the deadly attack.  A few weeks ago pirates attacked four fishing boats. Some 20 men were beaten and thrown overboard.
The Police say the body is presently at Bailey’s Funeral Home number 5 village, West Coast Berbice awaiting a Post Mortem examination.
