The Police have since detained seven persons for the Saturday night murder of the Sukhram’s General Store and Agro Chemicals security guard. Some of those arrested are employees of the business place. The business is located on the Rose Hall public Road.
On Sunday five males and two females were placed in a police vehicle while the lawmen processed the crime scene.
The dead man was identified as Prem Monien, 53, of Clifton Settlement Port Mourant. He reportedly met his demise after he came face to face with the suspects just after 19:30 Saturday night. The Police are working on the theory that it was an inside job. There are reports that he was badly beaten about his body and his throat was slit.

He succumbed to his injuries on the scene. The business place was ransacked and over $1.5 million dollars was reportedly taken from the store.
