The first leg of the inaugural triple crown horse race meeting will run off this Sunday at the Rising Sun Turf Club and will bring together the country’s top thoroughbred horses.
Junior Mohammed the promoter of the event said the track is in immaculate condition, the horses are rearing to go and patrons can expect some blistering finishes.
The feature event will be a clash of the ages with a battle between Princess She Not a one time Guyana Cup Champion, Just Call me Boss who has dominated racing at the track, Storm bird, Honey Flow and Its ‘My Choice and the unbeaten Guyana Cup champion Vera’s Finally.
Those horses will compete for a purse of $1,000,000 in the “C” and Lower covering a distance of 1,200m. 8 races are slated for the day’s event. In addition to the race patrons can be a part of the grand raffle where a Nissan Tiida will be up for grabs, along with a motorcycle, refrigerator, microwave, television and two Samsung Phones.
The second leg will be run on April Ist Easter Sunday at the Port Mourant Turf Club.
